HOW MANY TIMES?
It seems there are more than just a few people who like to call The Edgewater Resort & Spa their “home away from home”. How many times can someone come back?
Well, John & Kath Gardiner from Waihi, NZ consider The Edgewater Resort & Spa their home away from home – so much so, they have just been on rock for their 19th visit! Like so many people, they say it’s the way it feels like you are coming home when you come here. “That’s it in a nutshell. It really is like coming home to family” adds Kath. The Gardiner’s started coming in 1998 and have fit in two trips a year three times (and might do it again this year and take in the Rugby 7’s in November!) In 2003 they met up with Kevin and Denise Arnesen through local friend Charlie Numanga, and they have been synchronizing their visits and holidaying together ever since!
Kevin & Denise first came to Rarotonga and The Edgewater Resort & Spa back in 1999 after a friend at the Ardmore Aerodrome told them that of all the Pacific Islands, Rarotonga was the best pick because it was safe and that’s where the friendliest people were. So they did, they agreed, and they’ve been back 16 times since, and always to The Edgewater!
Then there’s Jenny Gwillim from Tauranga, NZ, she just returned for her 11th visit. Jenny & her husband Don had their first trip to Rarotonga 36 years ago! They already knew John & Kath in NZ and started coming on holiday with them in 2002. Sadly Don passed away 2 years ago, not long before their 9th trip, but John & Kath convinced her to come with them in his memory and she did, and was glad she did.
Clearly they all have the love of The Edgewater Resort & Spa, and Rarotonga in common, so much so, that their children and grandchildren have all been up for holidays as well! Seems like a whole new generation of friends and family are becoming part of our Cook Islands family!
They are of course all in our Coral Club loyalty program, enjoying the rewards The Edgewater extends to their return guests, which includes early check in, late check out, complimentary upgrades, fruit baskets, bubbly, island nights, massages, WIFI and unique luggage tags. We look forward to seeing them again soon no doubt!
