The Edgewater Resort and Spa was recently the holiday resort of choice for NZ Paralympic athlete Rory McSweeny.
Rory was hit by a truck at age three and became a below-the-knee amputee. The 25 year old is now a personal trainer, cricketer, and golfer and was named in the New Zealand team for this year's world Paralympics athletics championships, competing in javelin. He also won gold in May at the Arafura Games in Darwin, Australia.
While staying at Edgewater, Rory was able to experience one of the 3-bedroom disability-access villas, which are fully wheelchair friendly and include a wheel-in shower with rails. Rory doesn’t require the use of a chair but was able to try out these facilities first hand.
The Edgewater Resort and Spa is proud to offer the only disabled-access villas on Rarotonga, and they are available to all guests with disabilities.
Good luck for the champs!
